  NAME

BENGAL

Bengal cat, Léopardette

  ORIGIN

United States.

The bengal result of a cross between a domestic cat and leopard Bengal cat (Prionailurus bengalensis), small Asian fawn.

  CARACTERISTICS

The Bengal has an athletic body, long, with strong bone structure. His strong muscles should be visible. The size is medium to large.

The weight for a male is 4 to 9 kg, to a female of 4 7 kg

Chat balanced, pleasant to live, provided it belongs to the minimum of the 4th generation after hybridization between a cat and an Asian Leopard Cat. Despite this, his instinct and dynamism are above the average of the species. It requires space.

The hair is short, it should be soft and silky to the touch.

Two types of units are always accepted with extreme contrast. In the first, called spotted, stains are either points or rosettes of randomly disposed on the body. The rosettes are more or less round spots, open or closed, with a dark outline and fawn inside. In the second pattern, called marbled, rosettes are elongated to produce patterns similar to those of félis marmorata.

The eyes are large, oval, set wide apart, set slightly slanting. All colors are accepted.

  CHARACTER

The bengal is bright, athletic, intelligent, curious, but also very affectionate and talkative. Sociable vis-à-vis its congeners and dogs, but "wild" behavior can be observed.

The Bengal loves water and especially love to perch height. He is friendly, and is a mixture of strength, agility, balance and grace. His intelligence is his ability to live in the man's side. The male has a reputation for being much nicer than the female, which is often more independent and excessive, both in anger and in its tenderness.
